Reverend Tish Malloy assumed the superintendency in our district last year. Tish came after completing the last seven years as the Senior Pastor at Moore FUMC. She did stellar work there and previous to that you may have met her when she served as our Oklahoma Conference Director of VIM and visited and spoke and preached in many of our Stillwater District churches. The next Shepherds Retreat will be Dec. 1/2 (Monday/Tuesday) at Turtle Rock Farm Retreat near Billings. We begin with Eucharist at 5:30 on Monday and end with lunch on Tuesday. The cost is $80, which includes linens and wonderful locally grown meals. We are, starting with our December retreat, reading and reflecting together on Barbara Brown Taylor's book Learning to Walk in the Dark. So we'll be looking this time at Chapter 1.
The Shepherds Retreats are modeled on the Academy for Spiritual Formation structure (adapted for a shorter time period), with times of worship, times of silence and solitude, times of group reflection, meal times, and some free time. To attend, please send an e-mail to Susan Ross, email@example.com, or to Pat Hoerth, firstname.lastname@example.org. We will send you directions if you need them. We need to know by Wed., Nov. 26 (the day before Thanksgiving) if you will be attending.
